Parish Pro-Life/Respect Life Committee - Actively promoting a renewed respect for human life is the responsibility of every Catholic. The parish pro-life committee assists in a special way by helping to make the parish a center of life, a place where parishioners understand the issues and the importance of meeting the needs of those who are most vulnerable—especially mothers and their unborn children, and those who are seriously ill or dying and their families. It may be a distinct committee, or at times it might be a subcommittee of another parish organization. Whatever its structure, its membership include representatives of both adult and youth parish groups, members of organizations that represent persons with disabilities, persons of minority cultures, and those responsible for education and pastoral care.

PRO-LIFE RECOVERY RESOURCES

Project Rachel  Do you have a secret? A secret that steals your joy and peace? When it comes to abortion, we have all failed in some way. "Why can't I get past this?" you ask. You can. Come to a Project Rachel Retreat or support group. There is a retreat on March 17 and a 7-week group starting soon. Call 342-4673 for confidential information. That's 342-HOPE. Or go online at www.anewchoice.org. You are not alone.

Rachel's Vineyard is a safe place to renew, rebuild and redeem hearts broken by abortion. Weekend retreats offer you a supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment where women and men can express, release and reconcile painful post-abortive emotions to begin the process of restoration, renewal and healing.

Silent No More The Silent No More Awareness Campaign is an effort to make the public aware of the devastation abortion brings to women, men, and their families. Our hope is that the emotional and physical pain of abortion will no longer be shrouded in secrecy and silence, but rather exposed and healed. Believing that women deserve better than abortion we pray this effort will make abortion unthinkable as every culture develops ways to help women and men embrace their pre-born children.

PRO-LIFE ORGANIZATION INFORMATION

40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program: prayer and fasting, constant vigil and community outreach. Following successful local 40 Days for Life campaigns from 2004-2006, the first national campaign was conducted in more than 80 cities in fall 2007.

Heroic Media is a faith-based non-profit that reduces abortion by creating a Culture of Life through television, billboard and internet advertising which connects women in crisis with life-affirming pregnancy centers.
